In this game, the decks comprise of 48-cards decks instead of normal 52-card decks since all 4 cards with numeric value 10 are eliminated. Usually, Spanish 21 is played with 6 to 8 packs of cards.

• Bonus 21- applies when a player's cards are corresponding to 21.

Certain other rules of the game are:

• Redoubling - in some places, a redoubling up to two times on the doubling down is conventional.

• Splitting is permitted up to maximum 4 hands, which included aces.
• The payout of 3:2 in a 5-card 21 and 2:1 in 6-card is the rule followed in general. The bigger opportunity of the payout of 3:1 comes when 7 or more cards make a 21.
